Arbeit im Umbruch
Understand what's happening. Do what works.
Clarity and structure for tomorrowOur world of work is undergoing the biggest upheaval since industrialization. Jochen Wallisch encourages us to take the wheel ourselves — because whoever waits, loses. Taking a holistic view of the system of work, he illuminates its dynamics and interdependencies, giving leaders and organizations the orientation they urgently need.
- Five megatrends and how they interact
- Fact-check instead of myths: what AI-driven job loss really means
- The action compass: ten fields — from strategy to people, organization, and leadership
- Human and AI: design is what decides
- The performance paradox — more impact, less exhaustion
- Reflection questions that translate every field of action to your situation
»Jochen Wallisch doesn't think in miracle cures, but in context. When he writes a book, it comes from lived practice. A book for decision-makers in companies — and for anyone who won't wait for their professional future, but wants to actively shape it.«
Transformation is not about technology. It’s about people.
Structures work. Appeals don't.
Work isn't disappearing. It's being reshaped.
The future isn't created by adapting — but by shaping it.
About Me
For more than 25 years, I have guided organizations through profound change — as CEO, top executive, and CHRO, and today as Senior Advisor, supervisory board member, investor, and author.
Technology fascinates me. I'm preoccupied with how artificial intelligence, digitalization, and other disruptions are transforming business, work, and society — and the enormous opportunities within that.
But what interests me even more is the decisive question behind it:
Why does transformation succeed for some organizations — and not for others?
The change I write about, I know from my own responsibility: restructurings, growth, digital realignments, and new beginnings — I've shaped them myself.
That experience is where Arbeit im Umbruch came from.
Arbeit im Umbruch takes a holistic view of the forces reshaping work. It combines rigorous analysis with practical leadership experience and offers a framework for how leaders and organizations can actively shape change rather than simply react to it.
Transformation is not about technology. It’s about people.
